MMRC wants to construct a car shed in Aarey colony for the Metro-3 (Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ) project. They have sent a proposal to cut 444 trees down to the Municipal Corporation and the decision is still pending.

The corporation has invited suggestions from people over this issue and is looking for a progressive solution.

It has been said that the trees which are cut during any development process, aren’t replanted later as 7,842 trees have been cut in the last two years but none replanted. This is the reason why BMC’s tree authority is opposing this proposal.
