On Thursday, January 21, the minimum temperature in Mumbai was clocked at 18.2 degrees Celsius.

According to sources, the low-pressure area that formed a few days ago had caused a change in the weather. As a result, minimum and maximum temperatures witnessed a decline in Mumbai and across the state. Moreover, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecasted that the downward trend will continue throughout the week.

Moreover, the minimum temperatures in Jalgaon, Pune, Nashik, Mahabaleshwar, Dahanu and Gondia have dropped significantly due to which the winter experience is coming back in some parts of North Maharashtra.

Furthermore, the IMD has predicted that North Central Maharashtra and Marathwada, Vidarbha, North Konkan will be affected by the cold. After January 22 and 23, the mercury in Pune and Nashik is to further go down by several degrees. The minimum temperature will also drop in and around Mumbai. Moreover, according to the IMD, the minimum temperature will be recorded around 16 degrees.

Earlier on January 11, Mumbai witnessed its hottest January day in a decade as the minimum temperature rose to a record high. As per reports, a minimum temperature of 23.5 degrees Celsius, 4.1 degrees above normal, was recorded at Colaba weather station, representative of south Mumbai. At Santacruz weather station, representative of Mumbai and suburbs, the minimum temperature was 23 degrees Celsius, 5.7 degrees above normal.

This happened to be the highest minimum temperature clocked in the month of January since 2011 and has surpassed the earlier highest minimum temperature of 22.3 degrees Celsius recorded on January 28, 2014.
