Maharashtra Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on January 24 declared that the areas between Andheri and Kandivali will face a power cut on January 26 for almost eight hours. The power cut has been initiated due to the ongoing work of Metro-A.

The cut has been scheduled to happen from 11:00 pm on January 26 to 7:00 am on January 27. The metro company stated that the power cut has been kept in order to avoid accidents as Tata Power will be supplying high-pressure electricity for the Metro work.

The metro company along with Tata Power is said to replace the advance high voltage monopole at Tower No. 41 and 42. For this work, electricity will be cut in the areas near Kandivali West, Malad West, Goregaon West, and Andheri West.

In the meantime, MMRDA has requested the cooperation from the general public.
