Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS) six corporators who defected to Shiv Sena led to the closure of MNS office in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters from February 1, 2018. Sanjay Turde who was trying to donne the cap of the leader of the group (MNS) gave up after Konkan divisional commissioner approved that the corporators who changed their loyalties belong to Shiv Sena.

Despite MNS' six corporators defected to Shiv Sena, the former was sure enough that corporators belonged to their party and so they appointed Sanjay Turde as the leader of the group. But when the Konkan divisional commissioner passed the order in Shiv Sena's favour, Turde decided to lock the MNS office and also asked other MNS workers to go home.

Until January 31, 2018, MNS office of the BMC had one clerk and a peon and both were asked to stop coming to the office from February 1, 2018.

We did not get any notice to vacate the office but I am sure we will be asked to vacate the office. So, I asked my clerk and the peon to go home. But, I will try my level best to give them a job from my side,” Sanjay Turde, MNS.
