Update: After MNS' intervention, the construction work for Mumbai's dream project - Coastal Road - was stalled. However, the same was initiated again after a while.

Amid the ongoing Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) strike, in its aggressive move, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Monday stopped the ongoing construction work for the proposed coastal road project in Worli, Mumbai.

MNS workers opposed the work for coastal road project and forced the workers on the site to vacate while stopping the machinery. Moreover, the MNS workers locked the offices at the site and warned that the work for the same should not start until the BEST strike is over.

BEST workers' strike has entered the seventh day and no solution was derived after the meeting on Monday. The meeting between the BEST workers and the BEST administration along with the transport department authorities at Mantralaya was unable to come out with any results to end the strike.
