According to sources, out of 9,7000 employees in the state, 6,6148 officers and employees have been vaccinated.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has been responsible for ferrying thousands of essential workers, including doctors, nurses, police, firefighters, government employees, municipal employees and cleaners amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this time, 9,021 employees of ST Corporation, which has about 97,000 employees, were infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 8,659 employees have recovered from COVID-19 and are ready to resume their duties. Meanwhile, 57 employees are undergoing treatment at the hospital whereas 305 people have succumbed to the disease.

Moreover, about 1500-2000 employees were transporting 15,000 essential service personnel through 600-800 rounds daily. In addition, the proportion of rural workers was higher among those infected with the coronavirus in the second stage.

According to sources, out of 9,7000 employees in the state, 6,6148 officers and employees have been vaccinated.

On the other hand, the state government earlier on Thursday, September 2, disbursed INR 500 crores towards salaries and other necessities. This move came days after the MSRTC employees have threatened to take extreme steps if they will not get their salaries. In addition, Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis had also sought Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s intervention.

As per an official release, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar made a budgetary allocation of INR 1,450 crores for the MSRTC for the current financial year. However, INR 838 crores of the total allocation have already been disbursed.
