After Railway's 'Rail Neer', MSRTC To Provide Packaged Drinking Water To Its Commuters

Packaged drinking water by MSRTC will be called 'ST Jal' and the price is yet to be decided.

It is a common practice for vendors to sell packaged drinking water at higher prices than its Maximum Retail Price (MRP) at railway platforms and bus stands. The vendors charge ₹2 or ₹5 extra for providing cooled water. In order to curb this practice, Railways introduced 'Rail Neer' that provided quality drinking water at subsidised rates as compared to other brands.

Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is all set to follow its footsteps by introducing their packaged drinking water as well. The bottles will be available in the variants of 250ml, 500ml and 1 litre. The prices of packaged drinking water are yet to be decided.

Currently, 500ml and a 1-litre bottle of Rail Neer costs ₹10 and ₹15 respectively. The MSRTC bottles are all set to be introduced by Diwali in the month of October.
