On December 6th, on the day of Mahaparinirvan of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, lakhs of followers come to Chaityabhoomi in Dadar to pay homage to him. Devotees from all over the country come to Chaityabhoomi from December 1. To make better arrangements for the followers in Chaityabhoomi and Shivaji Park, Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik suggested that planning and implementation should be done meticulously.


Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik, a meeting was held in the committee room of the Chief Secretary's office regarding the facilities provided by BMC at Chaityabhoomi and Shivaji Park for Mahaparinirvan divas. Many officials including BMC Additional Commissioner Ashwini Joshi, Mumbai Police Special Commissioner Deven Bharti, Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Ashish Sharma, Collector Rajendra Kshirsagar, Mahaparinirvan Diwas Coordination Committee Vice Chairman Mahendra Salve, General Secretary Nagsen Kamble were present in this meeting.

Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik said that more facilities should be provided than last year. Toilets should be built using chemical methods instead of traditional methods. Dust should be controlled by identifying crowded places and using modern dust control equipment.The work of the security wall on Chaityabhoomi should be completed by the Public Works Department. A waterproof pavilion should be built in the Chaityabhoomi area. Every department should successfully discharge the responsibility given to them. Care should be taken to maintain law and order by increasing the number of CCTV cameras.
