The Mumbai Police Commissioner, Sanjay Pandey conducted a meeting with nearly 30 representatives of companies in the arena of delivery such as courier services, online sales and food delivery, reports stated. Pandey has reportedly instructed them to train and keep an eye on their delivery boys who are seen speeding and flouting traffic norms.

During his weekly live stream, the police commissioner highlighted that the force does not turn a blind eye towards these delivery boys who disregard traffic regulations. He added that Mumbaikars often voice their discontent that the police treat these delivery boys with kid gloves, but claimed that the situation isn't so.

The police chief took to Twitter saying, "Meeting #Zomato #Dominoes #Amazon management tomorrow to ensure no #RashDriving". Later he said, "#deliveryboy companies instructed to reign in unruly bikers else face charges as per law."

According to accounts, Pandey in his live streaming elaborated on how a stern message has been given to them and strict action will be undertaken not just against the delivery boys but also the company itself. Moreover, taking into account the number of serious offences committed by these delivery agents, he has asked the companies to partake in a comprehensive check during the hiring process.

Apart from this, they have also been asked to provide them with adequate uniforms. Pandey, based on narratives, has warned the food courier companies of consequences if their delivery boys are seen flouting traffic regulations or are involved in any crime.
