Mumbai Rains: BMC to install CCTV Cameras in 91 Flood-Prone Areas in the city

The 91 flood-prone areas include spots in Byculla, Worli, Bandra, Santa Cruz, Andheri, Malad, Ghatkopar, Bhandup and Mulund.

On Friday, June 28, when there was severe waterlogging at Milan Subway in Andheri and Hindmata in Dadar, the CCTV cameras installed in these areas helped the Disaster Management Cell to take appropriate action on time.

In the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) pre-monsoon plans, they had identified 225 flood-prone areas in Mumbai out of which in 134 spots, CCTV Cameras had been installed. In a recent meeting held by the Disaster Management Cell, they have planned to pull up their socks and instal CCTV Cameras in the other 91 spots as soon as possible. 

CCTV Cameras' live footage helps in tracking the waterlogging and other issues in real-time and assistance can be provided accordingly. The 91 flood-prone areas include spots in Byculla, Worli, Bandra, Santa Cruz, Andheri, Malad, Ghatkopar, Bhandup and Mulund.
