City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO)'s 24X7 helpline control room will remain operational till September 30 to deal with mishaps and emergencies during monsoon. The Emergency Control Room will address issues within the jurisdiction of CIDCO.
It has been established on the ground floor of CIDCO Bhawan, CBD Belapur, and will be operational on all days including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. It will facilitate communication and coordination between various departments including engineering, health, fire brigade, security and parks during emergencies.
The Center will act swiftly on issues like trees or branches obstructing vehicular traffic, securing open drains on roads, floods, potholes, garbage accumulation, waterlogging, fire incidents, epidemics, snakebites, building collapses, landslides, and more.
CIDCO has transferred Kharghar, Panvel (East), Panvel (West), Kalamboli, Navade, Kalundre, Taloja and Kamothe nodes to Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC). Citizens of these nodes should inform Panvel civic body about disaster issues or make complaints.
After receiving information or complaints from the citizens, the officials at the emergency operation center will take a quick decision and report the incident to the senior officials at the respective nodes, giving necessary instructions.
The center will coordinate with fire brigades, hospitals, traffic police and local police stations to provide quick assistance. Volunteers from administrative security groups and social service agencies will help.0
