Nine injured as a five-storey building collapses in Bandra

Preliminary reports released by the officials mentioned that four residents who were injured were taken to VN Desai Hospital for further treatment.

A five-storey building located in Mumbai's Bandra area collapsed on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. As per reported, at least nine people were injured in the incident and were rushed to Bhabha Hospital for further treatment. One of the residents, identified as Fakare Alam Mohd Ismail Shah is in critical condition. 

An update shared by ANI, immediately after the incident, said, "At least five persons are feared trapped after a 5-storey building collapsed in Behram Nagar locality of Bandra (East), Mumbai. Five fire engines, one rescue van, and 6 ambulances have been rushed to the site: BMC"

Visuals of the building were shared on Twitter with a message that said, "Visuals from the site of 5-storey building collapse in Behram Nagar locality of Bandra (East), Mumbai.  Five people are feared trapped in the building, as per BMC."

Preliminary reports released by the officials mentioned that four residents who were injured were taken to VN Desai Hospital for further treatment. Officials from the BMC further clarified that their condition was stable. Rescue teams rushed to the spot to manage the crisis and as per records, six people were rescued from the debris.

ANI reported that  five fire engines, one rescue van and six ambulances reached Bandra's Behram Nagar near Raza Masjid where the incident occurred at 3.55pm.
