There have been many instances where complaints have been lodged against vendors and caterers for overpricing of food items. To ensure that commuters are not cheated, Railways are launching a special drive named 'No Bill, No Payment' wherein if the vendor doesn't provide a valid bill, the food will be free of cost.

The Western and Central Railway has initiated this move which will be applicable for vendors on the stations and caterers of IRCTC who serve food inside the train. The officers will also be making surprise checks to ensure that the move is implemented well and strict action will be taken against vendors who are caught violating norms. 

Recently, Central Railways introduced licenses for hawkers to sell food and goods legally. Railways have called the initiative 'Adhikrut Feriwale' and the service is all set to be introduced at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT).
