No Duty Between 12-5 pm For Constables Above 55 Years Of Age: Mumbai Police

As the scorching heat continues to rise, the traffic department of Mumbai police has decided not to put those constables on duty who are above 55 years of age from 12 pm to 5 pm.

In an official statement, the Mumbai police noted that they have decided not to put on duty from 12 noon to 5 pm constables who are above 55 years of age/those with pre-existing ailments like BP, Diabetes and Asthma/those who have undergone any major medical operation, in view of summer heat conditions.

However, this week, Mumbaikars are experiencing a slight sigh of relief from the heat as the weather is cloudy and breezy. In addition, the daily minimum temperature also saw a drop on Tuesday, April 25, with both the Mumbai observatory – Santacruz and Colaba reporting 33 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile minimum temperature was 27 and 26.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

Besides, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light showers and drizzle across Maharashtra, including Mumbai.
