The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken up works of strengthening water lines in Kurla, which will take nearly 10 days to complete.

Therefore, the civic body has announced a scheduled water supply outrage every Saturday on Khairani Road located in Mumbai’s Kurla area starting March 4.

The areas which are likely to be affected on Khairani Road are Sangharsh Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Bhanushali Wadi, Yadav Nagar, Durgamata Mandir, Kulkarni Wadi, D'Souza Compound, Laxmi Narayan Marg, Josh Nagar, Azad Market.

To prevent prolonged inconvenience to the locals and minimise the duration of water supply disruption, the BMC has announced that it will conduct the necessary works in stages for 10 Saturdays instead of a continuous shutdown.

In addition, the civic body has urged citizens to use water sparingly as well as to boil water every Sunday as a precautionary measure.
