With the use of antigen testing, the number of patients testing positive for the coronavirus in Navi Mumbai has been on a rise. In view of this, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has decided to provide information about all the hospitals treating cases of COVID-19 online.  

According to data shared by the civic body, a total of 33,453 antigen tests have been conducted till August 9 in Navi Mumbai. At the same 36,670 RTPCR tests have been done. The trials of 70,123 people have been conducted till August 9, out of which 18,481 people have been found to be coronavirus positive whereas the report of 20,178 people has been negative.

However, witnessing the surge in the number of coronavirus cases, all the malls which resumed operations on August 5 have now been asked to close down in the Navi Mumbai area.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, August 9, the state has clocked 12,248 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus, propelling the state's COVID-19 tally to 5,15,332. At present, there are 1,45,558 active cases in the state. With 13,348 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 3,51,710.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 positivity rate, recovery rate, and fatality rate in Maharashtra stand at 18.91 per cent, 68.25 per cent, and 3.45 per cent respectively.
