Byculla – The people visiting the Veer Jijabai Bhosale Udyan (Byculla zoo) will have to shell more money as plans to increase the fee are under consideration. The adults who wish to see the penguins will have to pay fees of Rs 100 and it will be Rs 50 for children under 12 years of age. The developmental works at Byculla zoo are underway from 2012. Presently, seven Humboldt penguins are stationed in this zoo and the work of a cage for them is in final stages. The visitors will be able to see these penguins after the inauguration. Looking at these developments, the BMC has proposed to increase the entry fee at the Ranibaug. It is important to mention here that entry fee at this zoo has not been increased since last 13-14 years. The proposal will be implemented after it gets the nod from the concerned authorities, informed assistant municipal commissioner Sudhir Naik.
