BMC will give preference to the differently abled and women self help group for appointing the contractors for the pay and park contractor. Initially parking lots will be launched in the 'A' category Colaba, Nariman Point, Fort, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.

BMC Additional Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Deshmukh, has assured of this. Soon after Shiv Sena corporator Opposition corporators opposed this proposal of increase in fee for the parking Shiv Sena corporator Anil Kokil. Congress corporator Ravi Raja said that this proposal should be immediately canceled.

Manoj Kotak that there BJP has demanded clarification on this. Speaking on the Sena corporator Yashwant Jadhav said that providing more parking in Bombay is important to us.

He further said that our goal is to create a new parking lot. He also talked about increasing the number of parking lots 91 to 300 Mumbai. BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta has given instructions to mark parking space for all ward officers. The new parking policy was granted in 2015. But the state government had banned this due to protests by the public.

These parking spots are based on the number of people who move into the area by divided into three categories. Areas like Bhulabhai Desai Road, Veer Nariman Road are in A category. Initially two wheelers were charged Rs 2 and Rs 15 for cars for parking for an hour, but now it has been to increased to Rs 15 for two wheelers and Rs 60 for cars.

Residential parking in A ward for Churchgate, Colaba, CST will be preserved for 2 years. A monthly pass will be issued for parking vehicles in day time for Rs 3,960 and Rs 1,980 for night. If this scheme gets a positive result then it will be started all over Mumbai.

Congress group leader Ravi Raja has alleged that Shiv Sena with BJP has approved this, and BJP is pretending to be against Sena on this issue

BJP supports this Parking policy of Shiv Sena

BJP group leader Manoj Kotak said that introduction of this policy will curb the problem of private parking contractors charging more parking charges. Contractors charging more parking charges will be punished and initially this policy will be started on trial basis.

Shiv Sena leader Yashwant Rao said reasonable charges will be charged from Mumbaikars. This policy is introduced as people residing in chawls and building were parking on the street.
