In the wake of coronavirus, lockdown-like restrictions are being imposed across Maharashtra. Accordingly, the state government has allowed the local train services only for the essential workers at present.

Due to this, there is an increasing resentment now among the common people. The general public was banned from travelling by locals in Mumbai after the second wave of coronavirus erupted. However, with the cases receding, the citizens have been urged to allow them to travel by locals.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, MNS chief Raj Thackeray had written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray seeking permission to travel in local trains to such people who have taken both doses of the coronavirus vaccine. At the same time, BJP is also becoming aggressive on this matter.

BJP MP Gopal Shetty has said that "We had written a letter to the state government earlier also demanding to allow such people to travel in the local train who have taken both the doses of coronavirus vaccine. Although the government has not taken any step in this direction so far. Therefore, BJP will launch a protest on Saturday, July 24.”

"If the government does not take any strict steps even after this agitation, then in the coming time the intensity of the movement can be increased even more,” he added.

This comes days after Maharashtra BJP leader Pravin Darekar stated that the saffron party will launch protests if the state government doesn't allow people who have taken two doses of COVID-19 vaccine to travel by suburban trains in Mumbai.

Earlier, BJP chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhyay said that the Maharashtra government should immediately allow everyone to commute by local or they should provide INR 5,000 per month as travel allowance to each individual.
