On November 27, petrol prices fell below ₹80 per litre for the first time in almost nine months, in Mumbai.
According to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the price of petrol dropped to ₹79.62 per litre in the financial capital. It last retailed below ₹80 per litre on March 3, at ₹79.87 per litre.

On March 4, the price had increased to ₹80.13 per litre and continued to sell above that level for almost nine months. The price of diesel in Mumbai on November 27 was ₹72.13 per litre, lowest in almost four months.
In other metropolitan cities such as Chennai and Kolkata, the price of petrol per litre was ₹76.88 and ₹76.06, respectively. The price of diesel in the two cities was ₹72.77 and ₹70.74 per litre, respectively.
