Mumbai streets and potholes go hand in hand and usually, Mumbaikars go through a rough time during monsoons. But the city experienced new potholes when the city experienced unexpected rains during Cyclone Okchi. The major ones were seen at Senapati Bapat Marg, Dadar West where people throng to buy flowers as it is also known as a 'flower market'.

1-2 foot long potholes

Many residents complained that the road which already had potholes were not looked after. Residents Sangam Yadav and Gautam Khillare blamed civic officials for ignoring the pothole woes.

If the road has many potholes, we will ask G/North ward’s assistant commissioner to take the necessary steps.”

Vinod Chithore, chief road engineer, BMC.

Chithore added that assistant commissioner Ramakant Biradar and other civic officials were busy handling Mahaparinirvan Din at Chaityabhoomi and as soon as they are done with that, they will work on the potholes.
