Police issues prohibition order till December 4 in Greater Mumbai

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) has issued the prohibition order in the Brihanmumbai area till December 4, 2023, under the authority under the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, to maintain peace and order in the Brihanmumbai area.


The order bans gathering of five or more persons, taking out processions, loudspeakers, musical instruments, musical bands and bursting of firecrackers in processions. Marriage ceremonies, funeral programs, legal meetings of companies, cooperative societies and other organisations and associations, events organised in clubs, social functions, meetings of cooperative societies and other organisations are excluded from this restriction order.

Cinema halls, theatres and other places of public entertainment, courts, government, semi-government offices, schools, colleges and other educational institutions, companies, factories, shops and other establishments for regular business and commercial reasons are excluded.


Also, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Thakur has informed that if the police has given permission for peaceful gathering and march, then it has also been kept out of this ban.
