The India Meteorological (IMD) has issued a "yellow" alert in Mumbai between November 30-December 2.
Besides, by the Met department has also forecast light to moderate rainfall activity in Maharashtra this week which means that winter chill in the state will only start in December.
Northern parts of Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra is likely to witness some moderate rainfall and thunderstorms till Thursday, December 2, said IMD.
Apart from Mumbai, they have issued an alert for Palghar, Thane, Pune, Raigad, Nashik, and other districts.
On Sunday, November 28, IMD, along with six states in central and north India, had warned of heavy rains over south Gujarat and adjoining north Maharashtra regions from Tuesday to December 2.
It will be due to interactions between the approaching western disturbances and the prevailing easterly winds that will lead to moisture incursion over Maharashtra, causing thunderstorms, cited officials from IMD.
A slight dip in minimum temperature was recorded in the last week. Shivajinagar on Sunday recorded a minimum temperature of 13.8 degrees Celsius. However, it is predicted that this week would be warm.
Meanwhile, last week it was also reported that as rain and thunderstorm started withdrawing from Mumbai, a slight rise in pollution levels was registered in the city.
