After the Malad wall collapse incident and flooding in Mumbai, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Majeed Memon on Wednesday raised the issue in Parliament while highlighting the failure of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Along with this, Memon taunted that in such a situation, even Amitabh Bacchan can’t go out of his house.

Mumbai witnessed its second-highest rainfall in 44 years and highest in 10 years. The BMC informed that the city has recorded 550 mm average rainfall in just 48 hours. However, Mumbaikars got some relief on Tuesday and Wednesday as the rainfall was less.

While speaking at Rajya Sabha, Memon said that this situation in Mumbai occurs every year and the world media is reporting and flashing pictures regarding the same.

Shiv Sena-led BMC has a budget of nearly ₹30,000 crore. Despite this, such situations are occuring. This is the result of corruption in the civic body,” NCP leader Majeed Memon said.
