The Maharashtra Government has approved the reconstruction of a state-of-the-art multi-specialty veterinary hospital at the Mumbai Veterinary College campus in Goregaon. The Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department has granted administrative approval for the project with an initial budget of INR 58.22 crore.

Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister, Advocate Ashish Shelar, played a key role in consistently following up on the proposal. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded positively and approved the project to enhance veterinary care infrastructure in the city. According to Minister Shelar, the new hospital will provide world-class treatment and care services for both pet and stray animals in the suburban regions.

Hospital Details

The new hospital will be constructed on a 10,210 sq. metre plot and will consist of a ground floor plus three additional floors. Covering approximately 1,000 square metres, it will offer advanced, multi-disciplinary services for both small and large animals. The facility will cater to residents from various parts of Mumbai and its suburbs seeking quality veterinary care.

The project also includes eco-friendly features such as solar energy systems and architect-approved designs aligned with sustainability principles.

The new multi-specialty hospital is expected to significantly improve the quality and accessibility of veterinary health services.
