Reserved land for cemetery in Antop Hill to be relocated

The reservation of 4.8-acre land for the cemetery is relocated. As there existing Vidyalankar College besides this plot, the cemetery has been relocated on C S no. 117. The entire reservation is deleted from C.S. No. 148, 151, 154, 155, 179, 176, 184 and 186. This move is opposed by BMC’s opposition leader Ravi Raja and Congress Corporator Sufiyan Vanu at a press conference.

To conduct last rites Muslim in Sewri have only 1 kabrastan which is located in Nariyalwadi, Reay road. There is no graveyard between Sewri – Wadala – Kurla. This was the main reason for reserving land near Vidyalankar college. The land was reserved way back in the year 1991.
