Even as the Lok Sabha election campaign is in full swing in the state, water scarcity has wreaked havoc in the rural areas. The water storage in small and large dams in the state has gone down to 33 percent.

Harsh summer started from the month of March itself. It is still about two months before the rainy season starts. In such a situation, a dire picture of water scarcity has emerged in the state.
