A man attempted suicide by drinking poison in front of the Mantralaya on Friday, citing a lack of justice from the administration. Upon learning of the incident, the police got hold of the man and rushed him to the hospital.

The man’s name is said to be Subhash Jadhav who is a resident of Ambegaon in Pune. The man is said to have taken this extreme step due to a dispute over land and house in the village. The man is claimed to have committed the act out of frustration as the local administration is not taking notice of his demand for justice.

Upon receiving information, the police nabbed the man. However, by then it is claimed that he had already consumed the poison. He was then rushed to the hospital by ambulance. For the second time in a week, a suicide attempt has been made in front of the Mantralaya.

Earlier on August 15, a farmer had tried to set himself on fire in front of the Mantralaya. The farmer tried to do so by pouring kerosene on his body near the entrance of the Mantralaya. The farmer’s name is said to be Sunil Gujar who is a resident of the Jalgaon district. He informed the police that he had tried to commit suicide due to financial difficulties.
