Due to the cyclonic storm Tauktae, Mumbai had received unseasonal rainfall. Post the untimely downpour, there has been an increase in the humidity levels across the city.
For the last three days, the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.6 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz and 27.8 degrees Celsius in Colaba. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature in Mumbai was recorded at 33.4 degrees Celsius in Colaba and 33.8 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz on Monday, May 24.
Furthermore, for Wednesday, May 26, rain has been forecasted in the areas of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli and Solapur. Mumbai, however, will have a dry climate.
On the other hand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier informed that the state of Maharashtra is to receive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning in the districts of Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri.
However, the city of Mumbai and Thane along with other parts of the state including Vidarbha and Marathwada are expected to remain dry. Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted a partly cloudy sky in the city. In addition, on May 25, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Aurangabad and Jalna and other areas of the state are likely to receive very light to downpour along with thunderstorms.
According to sources, after a drop in minimum and maximum temperature in the aftermath of Cyclone Tauktae, a normal temperature was recorded in Mumbai on Sunday. The IMD’s Santacruz observatory recorded the maximum at 33.8 degree Celsius and the minimum at 27.8 degrees Celsius.
