Due to unseasonal rains in the last two to three days, the arrival of vegetables in Thane, Mumbai and suburbs has decreased due to damage to the vegetable crops, which has led to an increase in the price of vegetables in the wholesale market by INR 5-10 per kg. Moreover, tomato and onion have crossed the mark of INR 70. Due to this rate increase, the citizens have started suffering from inflation.

The state has been experiencing unseasonal rain for the past few days. Due to this rain, the crops in Nashik, Nagar and other districts have suffered a lot. Due to this, the arrival of vegetables in the suburbs of Mumbai and Thane has decreased. In the Agricultural Produce Market Committee of Vashi, the income has decreased by 5 to 10 percent. Two days ago, 550 to 600 carts of vegetables were received by the market committee. On Tuesday, the number of these carts has decreased and only 450 to 500 cars have entered, informed a senior official of the Vashi Agricultural Produce Market Committee. The decline in arrivals has led to an increase in prices of vegetables in the wholesale and retail markets.
