Recently, it was captured on camera when lemon juice was being prepared under unhygienic conditions at Kurla station. Following the video, Central Railway banned the sale of lemon and other artificial juices except for the packed ones across all Central Railway stations.

On May 31, a video of a hawker collecting water from Borivali station's washroom to prepare chutney surfaced online. He used the toilet's tap water and started selling that chutney accompanied by idli on the pavement.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched an investigation against the hawker and he has been taken into custody, however, no concrete action has been taken against him so far. FDA authorities said that his license will be checked and after checking the sample of food and water his license can be seized.
