Khar - The civic administration is proposing cutting down at least 29 trees on the leafy 13th road in Khar (West) for the purpose of concretisation and road widening. Notices have been put up on the trees saying 29 will need to be chopped down while five trees will be transplanted elsewhere. Residents are upset that the trees which have till now, not hampered the flow of traffic or parking on the four lane road, will now have to be axed. The residents have filed a petition in the court, and the next hearing is scheduled for 18 November.
