Riding triple seat which is also an offence further proved fatal for three teenagers as their bike skid on a bridge in Bandra West. Junaid Iqbal Rai (19), Aman Shaikh (18) and Sahir Khan (18) were travelling from Kherwadi junction to Bandra West when the accident took place at 6:30 am on Thursday.

Shaikh died on the spot and Rai and Khan were rushed to Lilavati and Bhabha hospital respectively where Khan succumbed to his injuries two hours later. Bandra police have booked Junaid Iqbal Rai under IPC 304A for causing death by negligence, 338 for endangering life and personal safety of others and 279 for rash driving. He will be arrested once he's discharged from the hospital. 

Notably, the number of road accidents in Mumbai have been reduced by 14 per cent since 2017. There are several nonprofit organisations that work towards preventing such mishaps by sticking radium stickers on dividers as they cannot be seen clearly at night.
