Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday spoke on various issues concerning the state including Maratha reservation, farm loan waiver, and launched ‘my family, my responsibility’ campaign to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.

The Chief Minister urged the people to remain cautious and responsible in the fight against coronavirus. The government is initiating the unlocking process in a staggered manner and people have shown restraint during this time, Thackeray said while addressing the citizens via video conferencing.

“The coronavirus crisis is far from over and is increasing. Even the World Health Organisation (WHO) report has said the same. People from every religion have celebrated their festivals ensuring social distancing. However, there is a need to remain cautious and protect our families and friends,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that it has been observed that people remove their masks while meeting their friends or relatives and urged that it should be worn all the time. Thackeray also focused on the need to follow rules “more seriously” to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

“We are initiating ‘my family, my responsibility’ campaign from September 15 in Maharashtra. This means that people will have to take care of their area, family and themselves which will eventually help us to contain the spread of the coronavirus throughout the state,” Thackeray said.

The Maharashtra government has already started ‘Chase the Virus’ initiative to prevent the spread of the COVID19 across the state. However, the Chief Minister said that people’s support will be required to make ‘my family, my responsibility’ campaign a success.
