The transport wing of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has taken an initiative to provide relief to autorickshaw drivers in Mumbai who are facing a financial crisis. Due to the lockdown which was imposed in the backdrop of the coronavirus outbreak, many have lost their jobs and are facing a financial crisis.

The auto-rickshaw drivers in Mumbai are also not able to make any income for the last five months. Amid this, they are under pressure to pay the monthly instalments of loan for their vehicles.

After receiving such complaints, the MNS Vahatuk Sena wrote to Bajaj Company seeking their cooperation in providing relief to the auto-rickshaw drivers. The Raj Thackeray-led party also warned the Bajaj Finance office in Goregaon after which discussions were held between senior executives of the company and MNS leaders.

While talking to the media, MNS Vahatuk Sena President Sanjay Naik and General Secretary Kirti Kumar Shinde informed that the Bajaj Finance has approved a plan to provide relief to auto-rickshaw drivers.

“MNS’ intervention has forced Bajaj Finance to provide financial relief to its 1,19,743 auto-rickshaw loan customers. The senior officials of the company have handed over a written letter of the scheme,” the MNS Vahatuk Sena said.

  • Checks incurred between March 2020 and August 2020 or before September 30, 2020, will be waived off for 50% of the total amount of ECS disbursement charges (bounce charges) and other overdue charges.
  • If the customer pays EMI on or before the instalment date of the loan in September 2020, October 2020 and November 2020, the remaining 50 per cent of the outstanding arrears will be waived off. This will appear in the relevant loan account in the month of December 2020.

At the request of Maharashtra Navnirman Vahatuk Sena, the Bajaj Finance has given this special offer to the customers who have availed the Moratorium policy without arrears till February 2020.
