Union Minister Ramdas Athawale met Actress Kangana Ranaut on Thursday, September 10, after the BMC carried out the demolition of her office, citing reasons of illegal construction.

The Bombay High Court ordered a stay in the process which led to the civic body halting the process of demolition. Reacting to the incident, Kangana had earlier posted a video expressing her anger against the Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government. She addressed Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in her video and said that his “ego will be destroyed” the way her house was demolished.

After meeting the actress, Union Minister Athawale stated he had a long discussion with her regarding politics adding that she does not want to enter politics as of now but will be welcome in the BJP if she chooses to join. He further stated that Kangana just wants to work in as many projects as she can, adding that she is to play the role of a Dalit girl in her next film.

The BMC's action comes in the midst of a raging bitter exchange between the ruling Shiv Sena leaders and the actor, who has been critical of the Maharashtra government's handling of the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. According to sources, Shiv Sena MP and Chief Spokesperson Sanjay Raut met Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday to discuss and come to a conclusion regarding the same.
