Amid the uproar over the demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s office by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Shiv Sena has distanced itself from the matter. However, the opposition including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that the move was a political vendetta against the actress.

When asked about Shiv Sena’s links with the same, Raut refuted the allegation of his party being associated with the demolition action. He said that the decision to demolish Kangana’s office in Pali Hill was taken by the BMC.

“The action at Kangana Ranaut’s office is done by the BMC. It has no connection with Shiv Sena. You can talk to the Mayor or the BMC Commissioner regarding it,” Raut asserted.

Ranaut returned to Mumbai on September 9 with the ‘Y-plus’ security provided by the Union Home Ministry. The Mumbai’s civic body on Tuesday had issued a notice to the actress citing illegal structure violations.

On Wednesday, the BMC carried out the demolition of her office in Bandra. However, the Bombay High Court ordered a stay on the process.

Reacting to the incident, Kangana posted a video expressing her anger against the Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government. She addressed Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in her video and said that his “ego will be destroyed” the way her house was demolished.

“Uddhav Thackeray, tujhe kya lagta hai (what do you think)? You think you have taken revenge by demolishing my house. Your ego will be destroyed similarly,” she said.

Earlier, on the occasion of Kangana’s arrival to Mumbai, Raut had said that he never threatened the actress but only expressed his anger against her as she compared Mumbai to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). “The matter is over for me,” he added.

It is learnt that orders have been given to party leaders and newly appointed spokesperson from Matoshree to keep a check on their statements on the Kangana Ranaut issue. This comes after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Sharad Pawar met the Chief Minister at his official residence ‘Varsha’.
