The state government in July had accepted a resolution requesting the Centre to give a minimum of three crore doses a month, highlighting that they could vaccinate 10 lakh, individuals, a day that could even be increased to 15 lakhs, stated a report by the Times of India.

The report then goes on to elucidate that when the state did attain 2 cr doses in September, certain districts were unable to utilize them at the needed speed. According to the account, on 27 September, districts had almost 38 lakh doses altogether. In a contrast to its claims, Maharashtra was able to vaccinate more than 10 lakh people on a mere seven days in September. The 15 lakhs figure mark was also attained once through the month. The narrative states that the daily average vaccination figures were near 7.55 lakh that is half of what the government said they would achieve.

Despite these figures, on Sunday, Dr Pradeep Vyas the additional chief secretary stated that over 2.5cr people in the state are stated to be fully inoculated against the COVID-19. With an adult population of 9.14cr, 27% of this has been fully inoculated. Additionally, 61% that is 5.86cr people have received at least the first jab. Based on figures of Sunday, the state had given 8.36cr doses that are the second-highest in India after Uttar Pradesh. 

Rajesh Tope, the public health minister stated that Maharashtra has administered one of the foremost vaccinations in India and with the vaccine supply augmenting, districts have been told to develop their infrastructure, mentioned the narrative.
