For the second day in a row, water supply was affected in parts of Mumbai that included Bandra, Khar and Santacruz, with the anticipation of the supply also being affected on Monday, November 22, reported the Times of India.

Certain areas of Bandra and Khar have witnessed either no supply or extremely low pressure. This has been attributed to the leakage in the 1,800mm Tansa east water mainline at the Mahim creek which hasn't been resolved completely, claimed officials.

According to an official from the hydraulic department, whilst they did complete the work, they realized that the issue hadn't been resolved completely.

The official was of the opinion that there wasn't any point in depressurizing it again thus with low pressure the water was supplied on Sunday. Adding that on Monday they will once again undertake the work on addressing the leakage.

According to the report, residents of the vicinity have complained about the exorbitant fees they are required to pay for water tanks.

A corporator from Bandra elaborated on how there are two mains at the Mahim creek which are namely the Tansa east and west. Local leaders have been urging the civic authority to address the issue promptly since it is affecting the locals.
