The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 24-hour water cut in the parts of South Mumbai starting from Tuesday, June 7 as the civic body plans to carry out works of connecting water pipelines.

According to reports, work is underway to connect water lines near Sewri bus depot. Therefore, water supply will be disconnected from 10 am on Tuesday, June 7 till 10 am on Wednesday, June 8.

During this period, water supply will be completely cut off in F South Ward (Parel), including hospitals like KEM, Wadia and Tata.

In addition, Ward A (Colaba, Fort, CST), Ward B (Dongri, JJ Hospital) and Ward E (Byculla, Grant Road) will also be affected. Other areas to be affected in the A, B and E wards include Central Railway, BPT, Naval Dockyard, and St George Hospital.

BMC authorities have urged Mumbaikars to make use of water sparingly during this period. Moreover, to ensure that there is not any shortage, they have also been asked to keep the required water stock a day before.

Earlier, a 5 per cent water cut was witnessed for four days in May owing to maintenance work of a 100kV power substation at Pise Panjrapur Complex.
