Western Railway’s Andheri station faces huge crowd every day due to only one foot over bridge on the two platforms, i.e. platform No.8 and 9. In order to resolve the problem of congestion on the railway station, the Western Railways along with Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has decided to independently construct two additional foot over bridges.

Amongst which, one foot over bridge will interconnect Andheri (West) and Andheri (East) whereas the other bridge will connect the northern and southern ends of the platform. Currently, Western Railways has been assigned with the construction of the foot over bridge that connects Andheri East and West.

Accordingly, the bridge will be connected with the skywalk which will assist the passengers for easy accommodation. On the other hand, MRVC has undertaken the construction work of the bridge that will be built on the platform and connect the southern and northern end of the railway station. More importantly, after the bridge is constructed, it will be connected with the eastern side.

The platform number eight and nine witness a lot of crowds every day and the express trains too halt on the platforms which makes the platform, a conjunction. However, as the platforms have only one platform throughout the railway station, it causes unnecessary accumulation of crowd. Therefore, the Railways will be constructing the bridge by next year.
