Airoli-Katai flyover route in Palava area on Shilpata road, Airoli-Katai elevated road works are in the final stage. Most of the works on these roads have been completed. Therefore, some routes on these roads will be available for traffic in January, February of the new year, said MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde after inspecting the ongoing development projects in Bhiwandi, Shilphata, Kalyan, Mumbra areas.


MP Shinde started his inspection tour of development projects from Ranjnoli area of Bhiwandi on Monday morning. In the coming year, travel from Shilphata, Mahape, Mumbra-Thane, Panvel should be free of traffic congestion. For that, the ongoing projects in this area should be completed on time. Due to this, MP Shinde inspected the flyover on Shilphata road. Three lanes of this bridge will be open for traffic till January 15. Hence, the ongoing traffic jam on the narrow bridge will come to an end. MP Shinde said that the left-hand lane on the Airoli-Katai elevated road connecting Mumbai, Navi Mumbai area via Shilphata road will be opened by the end of February.

A flyover has been constructed at Mumbra Y Junction. Airoli elevated road, Shilphata flyover are proposed in this area. He also said that by constructing a flyover on Mahape road near this connection works, this area which is always in trouble will be freed from the problem. One lane has been closed on Shilphata-Mahape pipe road for aqueduct work. Hence the dilemma. He ordered the officials to do these works immediately. The flyover work will be started soon in this area. With the Airoli-Katai elevated route, it will be possible to cover the distance of Navi Mumbai from Shilphata in 45 minutes. The length of this route is 12 km. The tunnel in this route is 1.68 km long.
