Andheri station is one of the busiest stations on the Western Railway. The number of ticketless passengers from this station is more. Therefore, Western Railway conducted a ticket checking drive at Andheri station on Tuesday to catch ticketless passengers. For this, a force of 46 personnel including 36 ticket inspectors and 10 RPF and Maharashtra Security Force personnel was deployed at Andheri station. Western Railway has succeeded in collecting INR 2.65 lakh revenue by cracking down on 999 ticketless passengers in just eight hours.


The number of ticketless passengers on the Western Railway has increased. Therefore, on 30 September 2023, 195 ticket inspectors were deployed at Dadar station of Western Railway. In this, action was taken against as many as 1,647 ticketless passengers and a fine of 4 lakh 21 thousand rupees was recovered. Then on October 3, 2023, 2,693 ticketless passengers were caught by 199 ticket inspectors at Andheri.

A fine of INR 7,14,055 was collected from them. So, from 8 am to 4 pm on Tuesday, 999 ticketless passengers were caught and a penalty of INR 2,65,111 was levied, informed the official of Western Railway.
