Mumbai: Youth dies after police recruitment test; Second event of the week

A young man who started feeling unwell after a police recruitment field test died in a hotel on Tuesday. According to preliminary reports, he died of a cardiac arrest, the official said. In this case, a case of accidental death has been registered at Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Marg Police Station. This is the second death of a recruitment candidate in a week. Earlier on Friday, a 26-year-old youth from Washim district died after a field test.


The deceased has been identified as Amar Ashok Solanki (24), a resident of Navsari in Amravati. He had come to Mumbai for the police recruitment field test. He was currently staying at the Residency Hotel in the Fort area. Solanki told an acquaintance that he was feeling unwell after giving the field test on Tuesday. Then around 5:00 pm while taking a bath, he vomited and fell down unconscious. He was taken to St. George Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

In this case, the MRA Marg police has registered a case of accidental death after recording the statement of a young woman known to Solanki. Feeling uneasy, he had called the young woman to the hotel for help. When she reached there Solanki was unconscious. According to the medical report, he died due to heart attack, said Senior Police Inspector Rajesh Pawar of MRA Marg Police Station.


Death of another candidate

In an earlier incident, 26-year-old Ganesh Ugle, who had come for police recruitment, died on Friday. He collapsed after completing the 1,600m test run and later on passed away. In this case, the Bandra-Kurla complex police have registered an accidental death. He was a native of Washim district.
