Mumbai- Salt is considered as an integral part of our cuisine. Where would we be without salt? Iodine rich salt is expected whenever you buy it from your grocery shop or from the mall. But is the salt that you buy unadulterated?? Is it safe to consume?
In a daring raid, Food and Drugs Administration have seized 10.5-ton such iodine-deprived salt at Rawji Salt Supplier Company at Shivdas Chapsi road. The FDA suspects adulteration and the officials will now examine the four samples of the salt and after receiving the reports, they will take action against the company. The officials also mentioned that such raids and sample testing on salt is being conducted across the state.
