BCCI doubles annual retainership fee of 32 players

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has doubled the annual retainership fee of 32 cricketers. Grade A players will get Rs. 2 crore as compared to the earlier Rs. 1 crore, while grade B players will get Rs. 1 crore and grade C players will get Rs. 50,00,000.

After doubling the annual retainership fees, players such as Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja and Murli Vijay will be joining the league of A grade players which has big players such as Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravi Chandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane. Ravindra Jadeja has jumped from C grade to A grade.

Likewise, grade B players include Rohit Sharma, Lokesh Rahul, Bhuneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Riddhiman Saha, Jaspreet Bumra and Yuvraj Singh who will get Rs. 1 crore. However, players such as Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Dhavan have been shifted from B grade to C grade and Rahul, Bumra, Yuvraj and Saha have been shifted from C grade to B grade. They will now be paid Rs. 50,00,000.
