Sri Lankan cricket legend, Chaminda Vaas, is training the youngsters in Mumbai. The training camp is organised by Jwala Foundation’s training academy, where Vaas is mentoring the youngsters of the age groups Under-14, Under-15, Under-16 and Under-18 and assessing them for their fast bowling.

Hosted at Police Gymkhana, Charni Road, the camp started on May 17 and will conclude on May 21. Chaminda Vaas started coaching in 2013 and believes that fast bowling requires a lot of hard work and perseverance. He also believes that maintaining one's form during a run-up is quite important. A good run-up and fast pace is possessed by a talented bowler but hard work is what makes that talent bloom, according to Chaminda.

Sri Lanka's ace speedster has recorded 355 Test wicket in 111 games and another 400 ODI scalps in 322 matches. Having played his cricket alongside other Sri Lankan greats and at a time when Sri Lanka was at the helm of international cricket, Vaas is sure to have tomes of knowledge to impart. India hasn't produced as many talented fast bowlers as one would have liked and looking for inspiration and guidance from retired professionals is surely a step in the right direction.
