As per reports, the BCCI had started looking for a new sponsor after suspending its contract with Vivo for a year, and it is said that both BCCI and Dream 11 will now have an agreement by December 31, 2020. Further, BCCI had laid down certain conditions while inviting tenders for sponsorship for the new season which stated that only those companies with an annual turnover of over ₹300 crores could bid. Officials had further made it clear that it would not award the sponsorship to the highest bidder and the new sponsor would be selected on the basis of how the rights-winning company would benefit the IPL brand.
