India's young guns cruised to the next round with a dominant win over Papua New Guinea on Tuesday.

Captain Prithvi Shaw slammed a solid fifty while spinner Anukul Roy claimed a maiden five-wicket haul to emerge as the architects of India's dominating victory.

Shaw won the toss and elected to field first.

Ovia Sam (15), opener Simon Atai (13) and Sinaka Arua (12) were the notable contributors for Papua New Guinea, who had qualified for their eighth World Cup after remaining unbeaten in the East Asia Pacific Qualifier in Samoa.

PNG were bowled out for 64 in 21.5 overs with Anukul Roy grabbing 6.5-2-14-5.

India reached the target within the first 8 overs with a total of 67 and Prithvi Shaw hitting 57 in 39 balls.

This is India's second victory after defeating Australia in the first game by 100 runs where Prithvi Shaw scored a brilliant 94. The Mumbai prodigy is growing day by day and is making a mark for himself on the international stage and coach Rahul Dravid has immense faith in the 18-year-old.
