Kolkata Knight Riders finally grabbed a win after being on a losing spree for a while and the win came at the cost of Mumbai Indians. Despite Hardik Pandya's sizzling innings (91 in 34 balls), Mumbai had a massive run chase as KKR tabled 232/2 (Russell 80 in 40 balls). After losing the game, MI captain Rohit Sharma also lost 15 per cent of his match fees.

MI captain Rohit Sharma was given out leg before in the fourth over, and after that he broke the stumps. He was charged under Level 1 of 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct.

Mumbai were chasing a big total of 233 and Sharma was off to a good start, hitting three boundaries early on before being given out to an attempted hoick that he missed off Harry Gurney. Replays showed that the ball was just clipping the leg stump as the captain reviewed the decision. He made his displeasure quite obvious, exchanging a couple of words with the umpire and then breaking the stumps with his bat. He accepted the sanction.

Mumbai eventually lost the game by 34 runs and now have 14 points from 12 games.
